Media Autobiography

Out of the many different types of media, Movies would have to be one that takes up most of my time. It is something I personally enjoy deeply. As a a kid I remember going with my mother on a Saturday, spending the whole day there sneaking into all the movies and on other occasions it would be at the Drive-inns and I would end up falling asleep. It was one of my favorite things to do, with regards to the rest television was not a big part until I got to high school. My mother and grandmother controlled the tv and it usually was some soap opera. So I spent my time outside as much as I could or until the street lights came on. Radio and audio seem to go hand in hand, early in my life with technology not quite were it is now, I remember making mix-tapes and burning cd's as a kid. As I continue to grow I restrict the amount of media or "distractions" that I allow myself. Books to my surprise have became a big part of the media I partake in. But with tv, movies or audio I censure what I allow myself to watch or hear. In my opinion I believe it does have some significance on our conscience and I hardly listen to anything to vulgar or explicit. As well as my choice in movies now scary movies are really not my cup of tea anymore. I listen to podcast during the times I walk in the morning my favorite is Joe Rogan's which kind of contradicts my previous statement because he can at time be explicit but the message he puts out about the mind, body and life are interesting to me. I could probably count with both hands the times I read the newspaper, and it was when an article was written about me in high school about football and the only magazine I read are when I am waiting to get a haircut. Media is very important it takes up much of our time do not waste on things that lack importance or are not making you a better person, we all get a kick out family guy or what kardashian is hotter but invest your time wisely.

  2. When I was a kid, I used to do the exact same thing with my mom. I think movies would have to be a big part of my life too, I have always had an interest in watching any type of movie, reguardless of the rateing.

  3. When I was a kid I also spent a lot of my time playing outside with the neighborhood kids until my parents called me in for dinner. Now that I think about it, tv or going online was the last thing on my mind and I can appreciate that now because its rare that I see kids playing outside anymore. hmmm.. must be indoors playing video games and texting each other via their smart phones.

  4. It's interesting that you restrict yourself from certain media now that you have the freedom do do whatever you like. Media can be addictive and affect how we live our lives.
